Jesus Christ offers to all of us the free gift of eternal life. He came to earth, died on a cross for our sins, and was raised from the dead. All He asks is our simple childlike faith to believe in Him and what He did for us. It was something we could not do for ourselves. Here are HIS directions to get on the “Highway to Heaven”:

•Open your heart and buckle up for safety. Psalms 4:8 states: “In peace I will both lie down and slept, for thou alone, O LORD, dost make me to dwell in safety.”

•Go down two blocks and turn right on Repentance Rd. The word “repentance” means to turn away from, with a change of heart toward God. The thought here is that we do a 180 degree turn from doing what is contrary to God’s will for our lives.

•The next left turn will lead you to Forgiveness Fwy. I John 1:9 states: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

•You’re almost there. Now look for the door of your heart, open it, and ask Him in. Revelation 3:20 states: “Behold, I [Jesus] stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.”

•Well, there you have it! All the direction you’ll ever need on your way to heaven. John 14:6 states: “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.’”

•Follow these simple directions and you’ll never be lost again.

If that is your desire, simply pray this prayer asking Jesus to come into your life to be your Lord:

“Dear Lord. I know that I'm a sinner. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins and for the sacrifice that You made for me. I ask You to come into my life, to forgive me of all I’ve done wrong, and to be my Lord and Savior. I open my heart to You now. I give my heart to You and I thank You for your free gift of eternal life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
