time as the Body of Christ from all over the
county of San Diego gathers together to Walk
for Jesus! It will be held on the campus grounds
of Maranatha Christian School (9050 Maranatha Drive) in Mira Mesa at 9:00am on July 17, 2010. The proceeds will benefit the ministry of Jesus Loves You and the upcoming San Diego Luis Palau Crusade.
COME WALK...OR SPONSOR A WALKER! All walkers need to do is sign up for The Walk by registering online above or by downloading the "Registration Brochure" and mailing it in. [Note: Registration by July 12th insures a T-shirt!] And then ask family and friends to sponsor you for The Walk (the sponsor form is also in the brochure). Sponsors may donate online or via check/cash. You may bring your completed sponsor form and donations to the event.
As we walk around the campus there will be a lap designated to pray for the community. Another will provide a time to memorize scripture with a friend as you walk. You can walk as many or as few laps as you’d like.
Afterwards, there will be a great lunch, music, and time of fellowship together. It will include games and prizes, too such as a new Apple IPad, an HDTV, and our grand prize: a trip for two to Maui. Adults, teens, youth groups, kids, families, singles...all are invited to take part!
CHURCH TENT VOLUNTEERS Special tent booths will be set up such as “Living Water” to quench your thirst; “Fruit of the Spirit” to give you some extra energy; “HE Brews Coffee” to give you a lift; and “Walk in the Word” to refresh your soul through scripture verses. Members of your church, who choose not to walk, can still be involved by volunteering to serve at one of these tent booths. Your church info can be displayed and distributed.
BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP Your business or company can participate by providing needed goods, supplies, for the event or a monetary donation. In turn, you will be prominently featured with your own banner or sign (provided by your business), and also with continual acknowledgements during the course of the day.
